It's for you....

I never usually give people at work any type of gift but this year and last I worked with 2 ladies who have really spoiled me with things. One of them I am currently working with but we will both face big changes in September so will no longer work together but may still see a bit of each other considering the location I'll be in. The other has been offered the chance to work in another school for a year and I'm so happy for her to have this experience. I wanted to get them both a little something and I've really struggled to find the right gift, I went yesterday to the supermarket to buy chocolates in the end but just looking at the selection I felt bored and came away having bought nothing. It wasn't until I was trying to sleep last night that I decided to create a feel good relaxtion package of hot chocolates, chocolate biscuits and a cup.... I thought it would be so easy as both stores near here always have tonnes of novelty mugs/cups but typically because I wanted one they had nothing. It was such a struggle to decide which cup to buy as all were plain coloured, clay looking type or really just your average cup... in the end I forced myself to buy this one which I actually really like but it wasn't quite the type of cup I had in mind.

When shopping a couple of weeks ago I saw this style of bag in a few different sizes and really liked them but didn't buy any. I then had the thought to buy one of the ladies daughter the bag and fill it with craft kits etc.... I got as far as buying the bag but just haven't had the energy to do anything more with it, I just seem to lack motivation which is probably why that right present never surfaced for anyone as my mind and heart just aren't in it. I had a look through what I had and came up with these things, I will be giving lots of loose notepaper but decided to photograph just this one as it was a present for me.

The little Miffy a friend in The Netherlands sent me and she told me they bring good luck, she sent me one and 3 to pass on. I really need some luck in so many areas of my life so hopefully it will work for me.

I came across a UK craft supply swap on swapbot over the weekend and decided to take part as I have so many supplies and some I've had for so long that I wanted to pass them on in order to get something fresh and new. Only problem is that I stupidily thought the swap was going to be posted on the 21st which is the first day of my holidays and I thought I could take my time sorting through my things to send. So imagine the shock I got the next day when I got an e-mail to start swapping and the deadline was actually the 21st. So in the end I had to go through my box for make my day to gather some things together. I just hope the person receiving this will like it. (the paper selection are actually a pile of one sheet each from the paper pads I own so all of these together will make one pad).

I have so far received some chocolate from the children at work myself and may get some more tomorrow. Then with it being my birthday next week I have a huge box full of presents to open which I have been adding to as letters and packages are flowing in. It's all so thoughtful.

Have you been celebrating anything lately?

Project: Journal Prompt Lollipop stick swap

I promised to share my journal prompt swap with you and I'm so glad I did as it turned out to be amazing. Yesterday I arrived home to see this wonderful bubble wrap envelope....
Envelope
Butterfly Envelope
I have never seen a decorated bubble wrap envelope before, I have plain brown ones myself and the others that I've seen are just plain white so it made it all that more exciting to receive this wonderful eye catching envelope. Plus I love butterflies!
Lollipop Journal Prompts Knitted Case
I picked the envelope up and was so anxious to open it as I could hear a crashing type noise and wondered if my partner had used a container that had broken. I actually didn't want to open it but I'm so glad I did as she sent me an envelope full of 'bling'! She told me she had always fancied sending bling to someone and I'm so glad it was me as these are all truely amazing and its just half of what you can see in the photo. I can't wait to craft with it all.

Still the bling wasn't the only attraction, oh my goodness that little pouch is the cutest thing I've ever come across. I've never had or bought anything knitted before so was completely blown away with this pouch. It's so well made and nice to touch that I'm already wondering how I'll use it after I complete my prompts.
Prompts and Knitted Case
The actually swap though was the all important Lollipop sticks which I can't wait to get writing to but I'll wait until my summer holidays in about 3 weeks to do that now. There are so many projects I want to do that I hope my days won't fly by.

After a month or so without any mail that I haven't bought I had received 3 letters and 1 deco the day before....
After a month of having no letters I received 4 pieces of mail todayOne of the things that I received was a full deco, it's travelled around for 6 yearsThis is the first time I had a letter from someone who doesn't know English so used an internet translating system
The last one is  a letter via sendsomething. I was really confused at first as to where it came from but thankfully the penny dropped as I was beginning to think it was one of the weirdest things I received. It was partly weird because the person had written the letter in a translator and converted it to English to send to me as she told me. What baffles me so much though is how will this person respond to my letter if they can't read/write English? I will of course send a postcard as soon as things calm down here.

I really dislike it that I get my mail all at once and then nothing for weeks as I always wonder at work if I'll finally get something etc...

I will post the last of my 30 day journal challenge here tomorrow instead of today as I really wanted to share this and couldn't wait. Also it will be the last of my projects that I post on this blog as like I mentioned the other day I'm going to turn my BurstsofBubbles blog into a project blog.

Have you had some good mail days?

Trees Deco..

Tree deco
I stopped swapping 5 years ago and there are times when I miss seeing the creations as well as creating myself but it is something I know I'll never get back into doing as it was just insane. I ended up spending most days at the post office and sorting out swaps that it didn't leave much time for anything else. Of course I'm so glad to have had that experience as that is where my creative flare came from and never in a million years did I realise it was something I could do quite well even though I know I've still got along way to go before I'll be brilliant at it. Also though I made some amazing friends in yahoo groups... this one was made in mine and Sabrina's group all those years ago.

Even though its been 5 years since I stopped swapping I still get FBs and Decos through the post and the above deco I got an e-mail from a lovely lady in the U.S asking if I'm still living at the same address so that she can send it to me, she even told me it was a beautiful deco but I wasn't at all expecting that. Isn't it just beautiful?

I think I've found another new hobby in creative photo taking as I can't help but create fancy backgrounds for any of my mail related things. Its another great way of making use of my craft supplies even though I'm struggling with my sheets not being large enough.

What hobbies or interests are you into?
