Send Some Sunshine

I took part in a Send Some Sunshine swap on swap-bot in a UK group where the idea was to handmake something for your partner. I instantly thought of a sunshine postcard I had created for my doodle a day only I made so many mistakes when writing that I decided not to send it as it wasn't meant to be. In the end I made this...
#swapbot #sunshine #postcard #doodle #snailmail #exchange #bright #sun
I sent this postcard to my partner which I had fun creating but my hand is never steady enough, I guess practising over time will make that better.

In return I received these pretty tags and supplies
I received some #sunshine via #swapbot #tag #quote #ribbon #fabric #tape#quote #tag #ribbon #fabric #tape #butterfly #sunshine #swapbot
As you know I love quotes and the colours are so uplifting that it was such a joy to receive. Also I've not been feeling so great again lately that it really helps receiving great swaps.

I love simple little swaps like this from time to time. I've got one more to receive and then I'm all swapped out for now...

Are you sending any fun mail lately?

Its a Beachy Peachy day....

Yesterday I spent a glorious day at Scarborough beach, it was so nice to sit back and relax whilst the children played, they kept coming and telling me that this was the best day ever.
UntitledA day at the beach
I had to get my feet into the sand right, I also went to the water edge for a paddle which was quite a walk down as the tide had gone quite far out.

The first photo is the view to my left, the second the view to my right and the big photo is what was in front of me. I was so disappointed in the sea view. In the past when I have been the tide is just far enough out for us to have space on the beach to sit, play and eat so it looked amazing. This time as I mentioned the tide was so far back that we had the most hideous view of rocks. At first I thought it was seaweed and soon realised it was rocks, its a good job I'm not a swimmer or I would have dived in at that point. In the last photo you can see the steam rising on the sand as it dries out in the sun, it looked amazing and I actually wish that it was like a fog as it would have looked much more brilliant then that rocky view. Our breaths were steamy too.

These were behind us, aren't they just the prettiest beach huts. I haven't seen many but I love the assorted bright colours of these ones.
Going home, it was such a great dayUntitled
Its time to go home and the tide is slowly coming in, it was a good day and the weather was amazing considering it rained most of the day in Bradford.

Today I went on another trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The teacher organising it wanted to cancel due to the amount of rain as we would have spent the day outside, we would have tried going another day. The headteacher suggested we go and see what the weather was like there and it was even worse considering they had flooding but the workers of the park insisted we stay and spend the day in one room. I've never been so bored in all my life. We saw some sculptures by Joan Miro and the children did some drawings. I wish we had gone on another day as I have never been before and it looked so interesting.

I took my kindle with me on both these days and managed to complete a book which was worth it at least.

What is the weather like for you?

Spring has finally sprung...

Chalk drawing and bubbles of fun!
Spring is once again in the air,
I accidentally broke my nieces bubble aeroplane so bought this bubble machine and hate it. Its so noisy but also all the bubbles clump together if moved around which is a pain so I'm going to keep an eye out for another bubble blower. We enjoyed the sun by having bubbles surrounding us and drawing with chalk on the pavement, it so much fun!
Good morning Khala a present for you!
I forgot to share these flowers she bought me the other day, it was so sweet but I really need to remember to put them in my flower press. Its the downside to working all day and coming home to just wanting to rest.

She accidently burnt her foot on an iron today, luckily not badly but I feel such an idiot for not paying more attention. She was sat on my desk chair which I moved so that I could iron my clothes, she was cross about it so sulked off and went on to my bed wanting to look out of the window which I had to tell her off about as she could easily fall out. I put everything back except the chair and started getting changed, she pulled the chair into the right place and sat down so skimmed her foot on the iron which was under my desk. It hurt her but she made out it hadn't and I couldn't see it until I put some Savlon on and it started swelling.  I hope that it will be ok.
I bought some new clothes today as I needed something for the jubilee celebrations at work. This is the scarf
I bought a new outfit today as on Friday we will be celebrating the Queens Jubilee. I tried finding a red and white outfit as I have some blue jewellery but I couldn't find anything in all the shops I went to. It's one of the reasons I didn't blog yesterday, I was just so tired, I'd actually gone out with my husband as he wanted some new sandals but didn't like anything so I got a little cross with him, saying he wasn't going on a catwalk and just to buy a pair. The problem is all the shops more of less sell the same thing so obviously all the other men out there are wearing them too. Anyway  in the end I went to Bradford Bazaar and bought this one. My mum was with me at the time and I asked her opinion and didn't get it... now I've bought it she's complaining I paid too much! With Pakistani/Indian sellers you have to haggle even in this country, I hate it. The picture is of the scarf, the rest is fairly plain but I really like it.... its a few shades of blue and white, not pink as the photo seems to come across as.

The weather is amazing but they say by Thursday its going to rain... I hope not as we are going to my favourite park for a David Hockney event. Still I want this week over and done with as we have holidays next week and I can't wait. I don't know yet how I'll spend it as it all depends on the weather.

What's the weather like where you are?

Today was the Day....

Cards
I don't normally find greeting cards very inspiring but today when I went to the supermarket with my sister I saw these and really liked the idea behind them. They were un-usual and quite fun from the usual rectangle flat shaped ones.

I only went along as my mums friend had organised a table top event at a centre so for some support we went along but it was actually really tacky with a hint of elegant.... there were those stalls that didn't have enough items and what they had was so badly organised so it looked really ugly but then there were 3 stalls that were so nicely done up but were lost in the ugliness of the event. It truely was disappointing as our eyes just swept over the whole thing and we ended up back outside to enjoy the sun instead. I really was looking forward to finding some usual and fun items. My mum's friends stall was really nice but it was the wrong time of year for it as she had lots of really cute knitted baby items and shawls but with a heatwave going on its the last thing people were going to think about. I saw a quilt that I loved but for some reason I had a brain freeze when it came to my card pin number and I couldn't remember it to take my money out... after 2 attempts I decided not to carry on as it would have blocked my card. I'm going to ask her about it later as I've always wanted a patchwork quilt.... still I've also told myself that I'm not allowed to buy anymore household items until I actually get a house and so far I've been really good.

Its been a really nice week with having a heatwave, being able to spend more time outdoor but even better is that I haven't had to cook once as my mum has been doing it. I feel so spoilt as my mum very very rarely cooks. I hope it lasts!

It was my younger brothers birthday on Thursday but we didn't celebrate it until today with a cake, Pizza and my niece continuely singing happy birthday to him... it was so cute! I've told him he'll have to pretend its his birthday everyday.

This cake really annoyed me not being in the centre. My family keep laughing at me taking photos but my younger brother asked me to take this one for him to post on his facebook!
Hypercrite :)!

Did you have a nice day today?
