A little bit of news
I've finally bought a house!! I made an offer on this house around Easter. Its been dragged out for so long and I assumed it was the solicitors not pulling their finger out in getting things done quicker. What was I supposed to think when they claimed to close at 5pm 4 days a week and 4pm one day yet when ever I phoned after work the person I wanted had gone home at 2pm.
Its only this week that it came to light that its the actual sellers that were being a pain in the backside. I was supposed to have the house on the 18th July but the seller wasn't ready! Then it was said on Wednesday 23rd, only I got told that one of the sellers still had things in the house that they wanted to sort out yet the last 2 times I went to the house it was empty!! My messages to the solicitors were ignored as no one got back to me and then finally at 9:30am today I got a phone call telling me to go and collect the key.
I got a really rude note from the seller at the end of it all, the estate agents got a telling off but hopefully that is the last of the negativeness.
It doesn't feel the least bit real, there is so much that I want to do on the house but its going to have to be a gradual process. The garden is something I'll either get to tackle next spring or in about 2 years time... I want more paving, less shrubs at the front, a bigger sitting area at the back and a not so thorny back garden as I got stabbed, scratched and attacked by them.
I hope to share many more adventures with you involving this house.

Fruity Goodness
Ok so I promised to share a photo of a fruity creation I was asked to make. Since I occasionally make a sweet tree and its going to happen more often as I think its a lot nicer to receive that then a tray full of Mithai at weddings I have balls in various sizes. The idea I had was to buy an ice-cream sundae container and stick two different sized balls on top and insert the fruit in. However I couldn't find the container anywhere so I ended up with a plant pot and a cylinder shaped foam to insert the fruit into and I think it looks awful but as its my first attempt I'll learn from it.
The tall stick looks weirder in the photos then for real as I just couldn't angle my phone right to get the whole thing in properly. It would have looked great having lots of tall skewers but it would be quite difficult for the groom to eat that as each guest wants to offer him a little something to eat so its easier having a small tooth pick instead.
I used plenty of grapes as it just makes the whole thing that more affordable, melon, strawberries and pineapple. I had a tray underneath it with different shaped fruit in it too.
Hopefully I won't be making one of these again in a hurry but lets wait and see because if I'm asked, I'm terrible at saying no.
To cut my shapes I used Pop Chef. Its something my niece wanted at the beginning of the year but no one got her it. I ended up buying it for this but if I'd had time to wait I would have ordered it on eBay as its so much cheaper, all listings were for China though.
This will work really well on fruit that isn't ripe in the least bit as fruit that is ripe will turn to mush. It worked really well on all the fruit I used, if the fruit does get stuck in the shaped tube, you receive a little plastic probing stick with it that easily pushes it in.
Do any of you own it and what do you think of it?

Easter Egg Sweet Tree
I've finally taken the plunge and joined facebook! I haven't taken to it in the least bit and it shows what little interest I take in people around me though as I couldn't think of people I want to add as my friends. I do have my reasons for joining.
I needed to make another sweet tree so I asked for some suggestion and then went in search of some of those treats. I couldn't find anything until I came to my local supermarket and these eggs were on for £1 so bought 5 bags and used 4 of them.
It is for a wedding I'm attending this weekend but I decided to give it sooner to display and with it being Easter themed a little closer to the event so it didn't look completely weird for a wedding. They didn't even care that they were Easter eggs as the colours go so well together.
Originally I just stuck the eggs in as they were but the foil was starting to unwrap and I was worried about it ripping off. This resulted in me wrapping each one individually which meant that I could put the eggs much closer and use more of them. It looks a lot nicer/fuller this way too and it sat on our table for a couple of days before I gave it. It stayed in tact but when I gave it to them, my mum says the grooms mum was complaining its falling to bits! I guess they were moving it around too much and maybe taking out and putting in the eggs too much that they weren't as sturdy anymore. I saw it yesterday and it looks a sorry state.
I have been asked by the grooms mum now to make a fruit creation for Saturday evening. I've never made one before so lets see how that works out. I'll try and take a photo if it doesn't take a long time to make.

Something so simple...
When it comes to making sweet treats, you don't need to always pull the flour, sugar and other baking goodies out... oh no!
It's as simple as buying a packet of rich tea biscuits, chocolate and sprinkles. It can keep little people entertained for some time. Why not try it!
